The X Pony - 2008

This neat little pony was a challenge, but she was a lot of fun to make.  She was designed by Angelika, who works for Microsoft, the makers of the Xbox!

[click on picture for enlarged view - warning - huge file!] 		The X pony was made from a sad baity Blossomforth pony.  She was given gray gradient hooves and the background for her symbol was painted in the same shade.

Her eyes are orange with a light orange swirl and the lashes are black.  The eyes were given a nice glossy coat. ^_^

Some detail shots.  You can click on the eye & symbol for slightly enlarged views.  Her hoof mark is a glow-in-the dark "power" symbol.  It's hard to get the thick glowing paint to behave, so it's not as crisp as I'd like.  But it looks just fine on display.  To the right is the famous Xbox logo.  Neon yellow was substituted for white in the middle section, so it also glows in the dark.  It was painted 100% freehand, so it's not absolutely perfect, but has an artistic touch. ^_^  Many layers of paint & varnish were used to create these effects.

A close-up shot of her mane.  Striping pattern is dark green/neon yellow + glow in the dark/bright green with varying widths.  I tried to dye the glow in the dark hair yellow, but it doesn't want to take this color.  However, it's not too noticeable when mixed with the neon yellow.  I also hid pure glow in the dark plugs between the two mane rows.

The hair & symbols must be "charged" (exposed to bright light) before they glow intensely.

The X Pony is a CUSTOM PONY, not affiliated with Hasbro, and this design will not be repeated.  This pony is for the personal use of Angelika, who designed her and is an employee of Microsoft.
She is signed and dated under one hoof.
