Iridium

Ahhh...this pony is the very last of the 2007 batch. Iridium is a
peacock themed big brother custom pony with multi-media wings!
This pony sat in the "unfinished baits" pile for over a year
before I decided to resurrect him. Base pony was a pink colored
big brother.

Iridium's wings were
sculpted from two part epoxy over a wire base. Before the epoxy
hardened, real peacock feathers were embedded in the clay. It took two
tries before they looked decent, the first set was very messy indeed!
The epoxy was black, if I remember correctly, and given a green mica glaze.

Iridium's eyes are green, gold,
and dark blue. Lashes are black and lined with a touch of gold, so
they show up against his dark base color. The pony isn't this shiny,
but I had to use intense lighting because the base color was so dark.
He was entirely repainted in a solid dark blue.

This pony's hair is supposed to
mimic the colors in the peacock's tail. It is a blend of many
different colors of saran hair. I really like the way this turned out!

Here's his non-display
side. Notice the hoof gradients. I gave them a light dusting of
iridescent mica powders, so they have a bit of a greenish tint.
Iridium is a CUSTOM
PONY, not affiliated with Hasbro, and this design will not be
repeated.
He is signed and dated under one hoof.
