Calico Pearl - Sculpted Custom Koi Merpony by Aikarin


[click on picture for enlarged view - warning - huge file!]	Calico Pearl - 2007 Design & Custom by Aikarin Calico Pearl is a 3rd generation merpony based on a design sketch with koi markings. Back in the days, I used to raise koi. ^_^ All pics are of the same pony...just looks like a different shade due to lighting & camera settings.
[click on picture for enlarged view - warning - huge file!] Calico Pearl's tail was sculpted in several parts. The tail fin was given a light coat of pearlescent paint.
	Calico Pearl's eyes are green with emerald striations. Lashes are black & painted freehand. She wears subtle white pearlescent eyeshadow. ^_^
[click on picture for enlarged view - warning - huge file!] Her markings are randomly placed orange-red and black spots. Hoof mark is a "scaly" spot which looks a lot like a heart!
[click on picture for enlarged view - warning - huge file!]	Calico Pearl's tail was sculpted from two-part epoxy clay over a wire mesh base. This clay dries a pale grey color, so the entire tail was re-painted with several layers of bright white paint.
[click on picture for enlarged view - warning - huge file!] Calico Pearl's hair is 100% nylon, identical to original G3 ponies. It was rooted in a random striped pattern in dark orange-red, bright white, and pure black. The length is slightly longer than the usual G3 pony's hair. Calico Pearl is a CUSTOM PONY, not affiliated with Hasbro, and this design will not be repeated. She is signed and dated under one hoof.
