Knucks
Pattern from knitty.com
Completed August 2006
Time: about 2 hours per knuck
Project Level: moderate

Yarn: Joann's Sensations Bellezza Collection Dolcetto Wool/Cotton blend (54% wool / 24% Nylon / 22% cotton)
one 50 gram skein (120m) in lime will make a pair of knucks with a little yarn left.  Looks delicate, but the cotton makes them pretty tough.

Needles: Takumi Bamboo DPNs size 3

Gauge: 26 sts/36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Size of finished object: see knitty article for size.  This one's a medium.

Pattern Notes (for Medium Size):
4 fingers & thumb are knit separately, then joined together.
This is the arrangement I used to join the 4 fingers.
Red marker is between the last two stitches of a round.
Green arrow indicates direction of knitting.
Tails face right side & are coming from back row.

Thumb is attached in a similar fashion, except that the tail should be facing left (toward the space b/t index finger & thumb).  This is essential b/c you're using the tail to close the space!

After attaching thumb: [54 st total]
Decreases are done on the side lateral of the stitch markers.  Use a safety pin or opening marker to indicate beginning of the round.
Reset the row counter.

Single crochet BO (clockwise, same direction as knitting)
1 row of crocheted Crab Stitch (counterclockwise, opposite direction of knitting)
