Yarn:
100% superfine alpaca Lavish. Just under 10 skeins (each one 1.75
oz/109 yds). Needles: US 3 bamboo DPNs for the seed stitch border, size 7 bamboos for the rest Other tools: row markers and knit counter Gauge: hmmm...it's a little smaller than what's called for. I knit the 2nd size. |

I bought the Celtic knotwork buttons from
Joann's. The button band is 2 rows wider than called for in the pattern. I made the button holes too far in, but it's not very noticeable once the cardigan is buttoned. I used the same alpaca yarn to stitch each button in place, but it's so slick that I'm afraid the knots would come undone. So, I'm going to re-stitch them in a different type of yarn or maybe more securely. Heard that alpaca tends to "grow"...hope this sweater doesn't stretch out. It's about the right size currently. Just a bit baggy so I can wear something underneath it. |
